In-service Training Programme – Dec. 2012

DPS MIS conducted a two-day in service training programme for its teachers at the new school premises in Wakra on 15th and 16th of December. This workshop aimed at orientation of the teaching fraternity towards innovative ways of engaging the learner. The endeavor was around the maxim ‘unlearn and learn’. Sessions stressed on learning innovative techniques, understanding school education and its dynamics in the present world scenario and building lasting relationship with students.

The workshop started with the prayer by teacher of Arabic, Mr.Anwar followed by its English translation by Ms Shabana. Principal Ms.Asna Nafees set the tone for the event narrating an inspirational Zen story with the moral ‘unlearn to learn’ – one needs to give up pre-conceived notions before he / she becomes an eligible receiver of the new. She welcomed the gathering and expressed gratefulness to the School Management on investing in Professional Teacher Development initiatives.  Vice President, Mr. Yasir Nainar urged the need to understand discipline & relevance – discipline as an essential criterion for fruitful learning experiences and relevance of learning to real life.
The inaugural ceremony gave way to the different sessions carefully planned keeping the needs of teaching at different levels.

At the Valedictory Function, Madam Principal expressed her thanks and appreciated the fact that selected colleagues from our talent pool facilitated these interactive sessions. The resource persons received certificates of appreciation for their noble effort from the President, Mr. Hassan Chougule. In his brief address he congratulated all teachers and expressed hope that such fruitful events will grow in number.
